Tibetan Monks in Hampton, Virginia

Nine monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery were in residence at the American Theatre in Hampton, Virginia last week. They were there to create a sand mandala and perform a concert of traditional sacred music and dance. We visited them Saturday to see them finish the wonderful mandala. The design of the mandala was thousands of years old and symbolized the need to remain centered and peaceful in the midst of chaos.

I, like many others, are watching the events unfold in Japan with great sadness. There is a helplessness that follows catastrophes like this — how can we, a world away, help the people of Japan? And so, I offer what I can today – a mandala for Japan — a symbol of caring, hope and perseverance.

My First Ever Etsy Treasury

Ok, so sometimes it takes me awhile to get into the swing of things....Etsy Treasuries for instance. Many, many lovely people have included me in their Etsy Treasuries week after week, but I have lagged behind. Well, no more!
