Art Opening This Friday

If you happen to be in the Richmond area this weekend, stop by Artworks to get a glimpse of not only my art, but Tim's art as well. We both decided to apply to the call for entries for the next all-media show at Artworks, and low and behold, we both got into the show! The opening reception is June 27, Friday evening from 7 until 10.  The all-media show will continue throughout July.

Amazing Springtime

Calosoma Scrutator

Tim spotted this beautiful beetle on our driveway yesterday and snapped a few pictures. After some searching around the Internet, I discovered it's wonderful name: Fiery Searcher. Amazing! It was the most beautiful greenish-gold iridescent color, and quite large — I'd say about 1 1/2 inches. I found a web page dedicated to this beetle that says it preys on caterpillars, of which we have many right now. Check out their site if you'd like to see some other terrific pictures of this type of beetle.

In the Area?

If you are in the Richmond, Virginia area, now you can find some of my products at the lovely Alchemists Books & Gifts shop at Stony Point Fashion Park. They created a beautiful display of my cards, mirrors, and magnet sets, so swing by if you can, and take a look.

So Beautiful....

Trees Coloring in Our Backyard

It's so beautiful here in Richmond today. The weather is perfect -- nearly 70 degrees and cloudless skies.  The birds are singing, and I can even still hear a few crickets chirping in the yard. Hard to believe it is November. If the entire winter was like this, I would be okay with it. :)
